........to go!!! And the album, it is almost done! I am very excited and feel confident in my album, before I thought it sucked hard, but maybe it is ok. :) I have such a pathetic self-esteem problem. Hehe. Anyway, I am hoping by next weekend it will be completly done, with album cover, info etc. YAY! This really represents a chapter in my life that will be closed. A weird chapter, yet it leads to an awesome one that is being written. You ever have that, a chapter that closes, from an event and after the event is over, you feel new and changed? Ever? I have it alot, and I love it, it shows I am still being worked on. I am hoping to really get gritty on the monome beats and doing a live show. I gotta do it. I gotta. Anyway, ya. I am happy.

Yet I feel so far off. My album is two songs out from being done. Yet I feel so far away from it being actually good. I am probably being to hard on myself, but gee whizz. I have this sound, and I get close but yet so far. I also want to be done with this dang album, because it is like a chapter of my life to end, yet I am so slow and lazy at finishing the chapter. After this I was really going to hit the live show developement,monome practice and mini EP a month hard. I still will, but golly gee whizz wilber! Anyway, must be more positive. I have 7 songs done. that is a good thing. They are solid. That is good. They are uplifting, yay more positivity. So, I have plenty to be happy about and I am. Just wanna get moving :)

So yesterday I was directed to a bundle of applications for the mac, from a place called Macheist.com. There was some wicked apps, like Pixelator, which acts as a photoshop. Snapshotx, which is a screen capture app. Really high quality! Another one, which is a favorite of mine is called iStop. It is a program which lets you make still animation via your iSight or your connected camera.

Hehe, it was fun to make and shows the potential I can do some visuals for some of my songs. Speaking of my songs, I have 7 songs done for the album, and another two 90 percent done. Yes, he album is tedious, but I am learning patience! After this album is done I am thinking of practicing hardcore a lot of things and trying to do a live show. Still got New York on my plate, wherever God leads me.

So I decided I am going to do a ton of monome tutorial vids. Super newbie level, but I figure the resource would be nice for people starting out. I'll do like every app that I am ok at and show step by step how to get it all going, apply, etc.

Monome is mine

Yes! Last night i got a custom built MONOME 40h!!! I gots it, I gots it! A cat named Kevin made it. this has been in the works for awhile and I kinda might have rushed him a little, but I got it! He did a good job making it, and I am going to paint the faceplate and clean the buttons today. It is awesome though, I am feeling artistically recharged. It really opens up a TON of avenues for me musically, and will get me to a faster live show and sound I want. Anyway, today I aim to complete the painting and fine tuning, and get a video up of a lil jam. :)

The album, yes yes it is going ultra slow. All my fault, but I am liking it so far. I am aiming for next weekend lol, but when I finally do get done there will be a blitz of music after that!! I am hoping, God willing. Anyway, pics and video of the monome coming.

So I have 4 songs completely done!! The most exciting thing is I am immersing myself in beats and stuff, its like second nature. I have let go a lot. Let go a lot of caring what people think, and more of what God would think is important. I realize that if I am inspired to make something really weird, then I should not deny it thinking people would think I am weird or the music is horrible. God is inspiring me to make it, why deny that? It is what it is, I would rather make the weirdest and most left field if God wants me to then make great to the world. Yummy, I am inspired that I am letting go. Anyway, this album is gonna rock!

Been playing with a new program called monumalator. It allows me to chop beats and whatnot while they are playing in time via my padKontrol. It is awesome, and gives me more artistic avenues to explore. Getting some minor kinks out of the way, but it is mostly ironed out. Basically, this is my alternative to the monome. The monome (40h/64 in particular) is an interface with 64 buttons, that show via lcd lights on each button the relation and position to the samples I am playing and manipulating. It really gives me great artistic control. The real monome apps that are compatible with the 40h/64 are amazing, but this one in particular called _mlr is what I can control now. This will do until I can get a real monome. Besides, this will more than do as I am having so much fun and have new ways to express myself.

Album: A little behind again, with life and failures. But I still have the remaining 6 songs that I can bang out quickly. One song I am working on, and spent a lot of time on probably will not make it to the album. That usually happens to me, and I guess is part of the journey, just really frustrating. It seems the way things go is the really simple but banging songs I lose interest in and concentrate all my time to complicated blunders. Anyway. I am inspired with a couple pieces and am still shooting for this weekend. Even if the album is shorter, it will be strong. I think everything is strong, lol.

I guess what doesn't kill makes you stronger, after a bit. A few days ago I overheard someone talking about a song I was working on, without knowing I was there. The words fucking terrible and a few other strong negatives were thrown about. It sucks when people in your 'support group' are not honest with you. Makes me trust no one to be honest. My new slogan is "my song hopefully is not fucking terrible to you." I hope someone will like my music one day. The daunting.
